The
following interview was conducted via email by Pauline D.
...Well, it
would be pretty damn self-congratulatory for one member of Six Inch
Killaz to interview another member of Six Inch Killaz; and on the
subject of Six Inch Killaz, no less!
When
Luis first approached you and asked you to be the singer in Six Inch
Killaz, what was your immediate reaction?
It sounded like a lot of
fun! Of course, I had already made plans the weekend the
Killaz debut gig was scheduled to go and visit my parents in Brighton;
but it sounded so good that shortly after phoning Luis to tell him I
wouldn't be able to make it, I phoned him back and said that I could
always go see my parents another time!
Do
you regret asking Luis if you could bring Jasmine along to provide
backing vocals? After all, you succeeded in creating a bit of a
Frankenstein's monster there...
I don't believe in
holding regrets; besides, she wasn't that ugly, was she?
Do
you feel it would have affected the group dynamics if you had sung on
your own?
Maybe
- but to be honest, without Jasmine I doubt I would have had the
confidence to walk on stage, let alone sing! Anyway, neither of us
could sing, so it's not as if it would have made any difference to the
way we sounded.
Tell
me a little about that first gig; what are your memories of it?
I
honestly can't remember anything of it; but then I was far too pissed!

I
was lucky enough to be present at a few of the group's gigs towards the
end of its lifespan. I think that of all the gigs I went to, the ICA
one was definitely the best. Which gig is your personal favourite and
why?
Again,
I couldn't tell you, as I was always too pissed!
Tell
me a little about the Trashola video.
I
really can't say much about it; Mona's got my copy, and I haven't seen
it in years!
How do you best
remember Wayne Morris, who briefly managed the group (and according to
Miss K, almost brought it to the point of self-destruction)?
An ugly
wanker with no personality - a cunt.
Six
Inch Killaz ultimately came to a somewhat sticky end. This was of
course at least partly down to Jasmine's deteriorating behaviour, which
in the end led to her being sacked from the group. Can you tell me how
Jasmine changed during her final months in the group? And how relevant
was her dismissal to the group's collapse?
Well,
she'd always had the nickname "Jasmine Manson"; but there was also a
lot of heroin towards the end, and heroin can change people greatly. As
to why we disbanded, the fact we weren't making any money certainly
played its part. In the end, though, I think the whole thing had simply
run its course.
Finally,
and on a lighter note, which is your favourite Killaz song and why?
Straitjacket;
it's the soundtrack to my life - in fact, it was the soundtrack before Mona wrote
it! But then, I liked all the Killaz songs; especially Luis' lyrics;
and of course "Rip Her to Shreds" - we should have sent a copy to
Debbie Harry!
